Paula Fitzsimons is an Irish Visual Artist utilizing modes of performance, photography, moving image, text and drawing to make time based works of art. Graduated from NCAD (Dublin) MLitt in Visual Arts Education (2007) and the Royal College of Art (London) MA in Painting (Performance Pathway) 2016. Paula has exhibited in Ireland, Britain, Italy, France, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, South Korea and Dubai. 2022 Paula presented a new live performance work 'Voice of Rivers' at the international James Joyce Symposium at Trinity College Dublin as part of the celebration of 100 years of Ulysses. Currently presenting
a practice-based PhD project at the RCA. Her research project encapsulates Irish Outdoor Handball Alleys, a Voice of Women in Irish Culture, and the writing of James Joyce, through a contemporary reading of philosophy
of Encounter.
